Contibute! Help us cover expenses for the project.

This project is being undertaken entirely on a volunteer basis, by artists, students, and other committed people from the MeCA Community and greater Portland area. There is already enormous momentum and commmitment to building it.. However, the Towers will only get off the ground with the financial assistance to cover certain material costs. Towers of Remembrance Donors will be acknowledged on our website (by name and with links to participating businesses), on-site at the Porteus Building, and at the Opening Reception on November 20. All funds donated to this project are tax-deductible.

Donate! Help us find materials/supplies.

We are hoping to minimize costs through direct donations of materials, equipment, and supplies from local vendors and businesses. Detailed below is a "wish-list" we have compiled of things we will need to complete the project. As with monetary contributions, material donations to the project are tax-deductible. Our current needs are as follows:


40-60 rolls 35 mm color slide film
30 high-intensity projector lamps
Roll (or 20 yds.) of black "duvetene" theatrical fabric
1" steel pipe and flanges and various small hardware
10 heavy-duty extension cords (25' or longer)
Catering for opening night reception

 

Spread the Word! Help us gather the images.

Because the creative content of the Towers of Remembrance will come directly from the communty, it is vital that everyone have the opportunity to participate. The broader our call for images, the more diverse, inclusive, and unifying the work will become. Email our call for images to your friends and family who might be interested. Put up one of our posters in your place of business. Images can be sent to us in three ways: by mail, by hand, or if necessary, by email.

We would prefer camera-ready "hardcopy" images to digital files whenever possible, to avoid the added cost and labor for us to print hundreds of color-images.
